I AGREE with the letter sent by Mr Thorpe, the headteacher as SS Osmund and Andrew appealing for a crossing warden at his school after the previous one had now left.
The school close to where I life is Greenfold Special School or Cherry Tree Primary. Situated on Highfield Road, a bus route into Farnworth returning toBolton every 10 minutes.
There has been no warden for around two years. This is a dangerous situation, even the parents who take their children to school have to risk dodging the traffic to get across. Something needs to be done urgently before a tragedy happens.
Money is being spent on a new bus station in Newport Street, the Albert Halls and now a student village.
Surely the safety of our children should be a priority.
A problem which needs to be addressed.
Mrs G Liles,
Plodder Lane,
Farnworth
