IT is right to assume that on May 7 our country goes to the polls in what is being dubbed as the most important election in a generation.

Although in recent years we have witnessed a changing political spectrum with parties such as the Greens, SNP and UKIP gaining popularity, the outcome will be no different. We will have a Conservative Prime Minister or a Labour Prime Minister.

The choice in front of the electorate is not complicated; in fact it’s fairly simple. Do you want David Cameron as your Prime Minister, or do you want Ed Miliband?

As a Conservative I would naturally support my party and urge other people to do so. However if I was not political I would ask myself the following questions before making a decision. Who would perform better on our economy? Who has the best interest of our nation at heart? Who has the conviction to make the right decision for our country? With a direct comparison, the answer has to be Cameron.

In the interest of Great Britain we must stick to the long term economic plan. The plan has been difficult at times but sticking to it will ensure a better future for our children.

Even through these difficult times we have managed to achieve some significant things. Who would have said five years ago that we would now have the fastest growing economy in Europe, we have more people in work now than ever before. Unemployment amongst young people is much lower than when this government took charge and two million apprenticeships have been created for young people with a commitment to deliver three million more. Income tax has been cut for 26 million people.

Let’s stick to the plan that’s helping deliver economic security.
