A STORY in the March 18 edition makes interesting and relevant reading when highlighting a visit by children from Wigan who came to study Bolton town hall as part of their architecture project.
They spent the afternoon studying the Victorian edifice and drawing sections including the lions, clock tower and pillars.
Their spokesperson commented: "We came to Bolton because you have such a big, grand town hall. We don't have anything like that in Wigan. The children were very struck by the building."
Planners — out of the mouths of babes has comes the reason for out town hall's glory to be retained, protected and preserved.
