I THANK dentist Peter Moss for his letter in which he tries to explain why dental care for the elderly in care homes in Bolton, is non-existent.
If my understanding of his letter is correct, Peter blames "target-orientated, poorly focused contracts loaded with incentives imposed by politicians on the dental profession, without much consultation," for the situation we find ourselves in today.
He says: "Our outmoded arrangements mean dentists are simply not equipped to deal with this escalating problem."
So while dentists and politicians and the others responsible for our dental care procrastinate, the elderly in care homes are left to suffer.
Sorry, but this is simply not good enough.
