STILL a month before Election Day.

Already the media has made it feel we have had a year of campaigning.

The media coverage has been tedious and whittering, with 90 per cent of time searching the silly soundbite or 'amusing' image.

Little effort has been made to clarify policies and ideas. I avoided the TV debate where participants had seconds to babble out heavily scripted soundbites.

Perhaps I was fortunate in having in David Crausby who as an MP realised the proper role of a politician.

No leading politician dare give a realistic vision of actions to take once in power apart from trying to steal UKIP's anti-EU thunder.

We still hear the dread expression 'difficult decisions' which, post election will involve 'thank you' handouts to the mega rich, while further complicating the NHS and education and creating a Dickensian society for those at the lower end of the spectrum.

I do hope a majority of eligible folk ignore the media mess and get out and vote. Don't ignore the ballot box then grumble and whinge for the next five years.
