IN response to Councillor Akhtar Zaman's letter to The Bolton News.
The image of the council's view of Cheadle Square from nine years ago, bears no resemblance to the images published in The Bolton News of the proposed student accommodation on Cheadle Square. Those images, which Councillor Morris and Professor George Holmes were quite prepared to pose for photographs with, are an abomination.
Do you really believe that if the council had published your images instead, there would have been the same outcry? Of course not. The fact is by publishing those images of the proposed student accommodation, you have destroyed any confidence in the Bolton public's mind that you are capable of producing anything that they would accept.
Who are PSP (Bolton) Facilitating? There are no directors listed other than PSP Facilitating and Bolton Council. This is, apparently, a "Limited Liability Partnership" which sounds to me very similar to the now discredited Private Finance Initiative or PFI loans, which are currently crippling many NHS Trusts and Local Education Authorities with extortionate interest repayments and who are also tied into maintenance contracts.
