IT is good and correct that Steve Jones (Letters May13) explains how bad things are presently in Britain.

This 'movement' has actually been with us for almost 40 years. The former things of 'quality of life,' 'social cohesion' and 'community' have been systematically engineered out of the equation, for the masses, that is.

The 'silent minority' are allowed their obscenely disproportionate comforts and excesses and the majority, over 90 per cent, fund it for them. The maths is that simple.

By way of appeasement, the masses are offered, or force-fed, brainless hedonism, infantile social media, low-wages, food banks and debt. In desperation, many have swallowed the medicine and who can blame them?

Modern politics, from any side, or in any wrapper along with ' imaginary democracy' can never and will never deliver.

We need a clever person, like Newton or Einstein to invent a new equation for us before we disappear onto a black hole.

In the meantime, what time does the bar open?
