LIKE most people, I am inundated with nuisance phone calls.

I know these people are simply doing a job, but they must realise that most people are sick and fed up with them.

I am never offensive when they call. Most times I even apologise, saying I am busy, or trying to take a nap, or whatever. If they persist, like most do, I put the phone down on them.

This afternoon however, after putting the phone down on yet another nuisance caller, the caller immediately called again. Again I put the phone down. He called again, but this time he was very offensive, even threatening.

This is very disturbing because although I have no idea who this person is, he knows my name, address and phone number.

Surely it is time these kind of calls were outlawed. This is harassment!
