HAVING seen the recent photo in the Bolton News, which had been taken by a drone, showing the extent of the fire damage on the moors, I contacted Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service to enquire if they had considered using a drone during certain fires, in order to assess the extent of the fire and how best to tackle it.
Apparently they had been investigating the possibility of utilising a drone for some time and a drone has now been purchased which will soon be utilised at incidents throughout Greater Manchester.
