SINCE Yasmin Qureshi’s comments, we have had a massacre in Tunisia and an abhorrent attack in France carried out in the name of Islamic extremists. Issuing a few words condemning these actions seems to exhaust the patience of this MP.
Nobody expects Mrs Qureshi to apologise as she has done nothing wrong and is not responsible for these deplorable actions but as a prominent member of the Muslim community does she not feel a need to show some leadership and be an example to members of her community? There are evidently impressionable people within the Muslim community and we need to hear Muslim leaders join voices with the rest of the country and condemn these atrocities unequivocally.
