BRIAN Iddon forecasts that the Prime Minister will soon instruct the Boundary Commission to redraw the Parliamentary constituency boundaries and then complains that Labour may lose out.

He has conveniently forgotten that when the boundaries of Bolton West were changed and Atherton was added, this enabled Ruth Kelly to win the subsequent election for Labour. Subsequently, Julie Hilling, who just happens to come from Atherton, retained the seat with the result that Bolton itself had very little representation in the constituency.
