WHAT are these apprenticeships the government loves to talk about, they are certainly not trade apprenticeships as the term always meant.
These days apprenticeships can be got in a fish and chip shop as reported recently in the Bolton News.
How long is the work for and what does it pay?
The chancellor, George Osborne has stripped the young of education maintenance allowance, shrunk tax credits, child benefits, upped tuition fees, replaced student grants with loans, cut further education colleges and careers advice while stripping away youth services. But above all, young people now stay home until their 30’s unable to find housing.
How dare Chris Green MP pretend that the Tories are the side of the young. The hypocrisy is breath-taking.
