I CANNOT see what all the fuss is about with regards to the daytime 571 and 572 bus routes and no longer serving Sainsbury's and the Train Station on the way into town.

Great Lever still has route 570 which serves most of Great Lever and still operates, in both directions, past the station and Sainsburys — and they should be using that service even more as it is a subsidised bus service.

In other words people pay for it through their council tax, unlike new routes 519/520 which is not subsidised.

Anyway they should be grateful as large parts of the borough only have an hourly service or no bus service that serves Bolton, or if they very unlucky no bus service at all.

I noticed that the councillors are grilling the water bosses about the lack of water the other week in many parts of the borough, then why are they not grilling the bosses of First and Arriva to see why they are failing the people of Bolton and forcing people into cars and clogging up the borough's road network to beyond a joke.

We all know its about cutting costs and creating larger dividends for their shareholders at the end of the day and not about profit making — but they ought to tell their shareholders to shut up and let them serve the public as they should be doing.
