I READ with great concern that the government are looking to grant a licence to start Fracking in Horwich.
The process of fracking has been banned in many countries due to the dangers to the environment.
Reports would suggest that it can cause earth tremors and also pollution to water and air. Not enough research has been done into this process and the government should not be granting licences until further research is carried out.
As a town councillor I am opposed to fracking especially in Horwich. It is a beautiful town which has already suffered with the closure of the Loco works excessive building and from lack of investment.
We cannot allow this to further damage out town.
