I DESPAIR, another letter from a political party about fracking, which is wholly inaccurate and misleading.
If you're going to make fracking political at least get the facts right.
It was the government in 2008 that issued the first onshore fracking licence, and it is the current government that are releasing the next lot of fracking licences.
It was suspended in 2011-2012 because of concerns over safety — in Lancashire, because of mild earth tremors. Suspension does not mean issuing or re-issuing of licences, it means suspension.
So please stop making this about politics. Residents want people campaigning to stop fracking, not finger pointing councillors or political parties. We're only interested that Bolton remains frack free, and so should you.
