I HAD the great pleasure of attending the Linwood Barclay talk and book signing at Bolton Central Library. Mr Barclay was an absolute gent.
However, due to my age, 71, and my progressive deafness, I was unable to hear most of what he was saying.
I realised he had been very erudite and amusing by the laughter emanating from the audience of about 100 people.
I spoke to the lady sitting in front after Mr Barclay's talk, saying that I would have enjoyed his talk much more had I been able to hear more of it.
She replied that the acoustics and general audio facilities at this particular venue had been poor for years.
Given that this venue is rightly open to all, come on Bolton council, get your sound system sorted.
