MR Paul Richardson (Letters, September 8) is quite right when he says that the pictures of two children drowning in the sea after fleeing persecution calls for a heart of stone to ignore or fail to be moved. The entire refugee crisis is out of control.

The pictures in the newspapers of the following day tell a different story don't they? There we see two small boys in their home sitting on a sofa, they were smiling and a Teddy bear between them. They were obviously happy and far from being persecuted, enjoying themselves.

They, with their parents and also like the vast majority of these 'refugees' were simply trying to get to a better land to enjoy a better standard of living.

Thus, they were not entitled to be regarded as refugees at all. Anyone believing that they were, would have to have a head of stone to go with their heart.

Europe is in serious danger of being overrun with seekers after a better life, and although we may sympathise with their desires, we would be utterly stupid to expect that we can accommodate them all.

Vote NO in the referendum.
