STOP building bigger than approved.
More and more planning approvals are being ignored by developers and builders who increasingly erect something other that the plans that were approved by the local authority.
This is a problem in most wards but none more so than in Heaton and Lostock where applicants seem to think it is OK to build extensions and even complete houses bigger than planned.
The council does not have the resources to inspect every building site for compliance with plans so it is only the vigilance of neighbours and local councillors that identifies these chancers.
Developers need to realise that if you build it too big or with extra windows and balconies then the council will make you stop and you could be faced with demolishing the building and starting again. Do us all a favour and please build what was approved!
