The University of Bolton has every right to make the appointment of Baroness Warsi to be pro vice-chancellor.

Mr Hyland is clearly of the old school views and seeks to deny anyone who does not support their left wing views.

Clearly Mr Hyland overlooks the facts. Let me remind him that Bolton has a Conservative MP and indeed in his own area of Bolton, three very effective Conservative councillors.

Many tens of thousands of Boltonians voted Conservative at the general election and were partly responsible in denying what would have been a disastrous Labour government under Red Ed and his cohorts.

So less of your high-handed attitude Mr Hyland in seeking to repress the substantial Conservative voice of Boltonians. Well done to the University of Bolton and here is hoping that it continues to have a variety of views representing it.
