IF I may respond to Ian Holland’s letter: ‘The University of Bolton has every right to make the appointment of Baroness Warsi to be Pro vice-chancellor’.
Of course they do, that has never been in question.
I will ignore the personal insults made by Mr Holland and try to address the facts such as they are.
In my original letter I criticised the University of Bolton for appointing Baroness Warsi and her quote about ‘Widening access to Higher Education’ just as the Tory government abolished maintenance grants for poorer students, not only that but did so using secondary legislation, thus avoiding proper debate and vote in the Commons and Lords.
Mr Holland makes no effort to address this obvious contradiction.
