I AM a trustee and fosterer for a pet rescue charity based in Bolton and we cat fosterers have a lot of cat litter waste to dispose of every week.
The new mini size of bin will be totally inadequate for our needs.
I am in touch with the council but there is no way they will allow us to retain the current grey bin. The only alternative I'm told is to hire a "trade waste" bin (same size as the grey bin) which would be emptied every week at a cost of £263 a year.
This is a considerable expense for a small charity if we only hired one bin, but as the three Bolton fosterers live miles apart and two don't have transport, we are facing a potential outlay of £789 per year for three separate bins. This is money we should be spending on needy animals, not ruddy dustbins!
