WHILST still deep in the grip of austerity we are spending more on overseas aid than any other country.

I feel that it's time we saved on this ever increasing financial drain. Allegedly there are many head-scratching examples as to why and who should receive from our seemingly bottomless aid pot.

One bemusing example being thus, with the lack of government funding and investment our rail service which in some cases qualifies as no better than cattle truck class, and yet a country that is the second highest recipient of British aid which was £279m last year, is spending £10billion on high speed trains from Japan. I rest my case.
