AFTER reading the letter regarding the condition of the bowling green at Leverhulme Park, I agree with his comments wholeheartedly.

The state of most of the greens in Bolton is very poor.

The bowling green at Sunnyside is in a terrible state, it's like walking on soggy sponge. Yes the grass gets cut and that's all it gets. It isn't treated over the winter which means that when the season starts in April, the green isn't fit for purpose.

The team haven't been able to practice as the green is so poor. Last week a match at Haslam Park was cancelled owing to a waterlogged green.

Longsight are lucky to have the support of their local councillors. It is a pity other councillors aren't so supportive.

As for the person who is meant to be in charge of making sure the relevant work is carried out on these greens, it's time they got their act together and stepped up to the mark.
