AT the full Council meeting in April, a Conservative councillor asked a question and raised a motion calling for the Leader of the Council and the Leader of Bolton’s Labour group to resign following Bolton News’ three year battle to name a councillor who didn’t pay their Council Tax on time.
However, at the Mayor’s inauguration ceremony last Wednesday, the very same councillor who raised the motion, voted in favour that Councillor Morris should remain as the Leader of the Council for the new municipal year — Bolton's Conservative Group Leader seconding the motion. (The Lib Dem Councillors refrained from voting).
It now looks nothing more than a political stunt. Aren’t we all fed up with politicians who say one thing but then do the opposite?
In a letter to the Bolton News in April the same councillor said he was all for ‘an honest debate’. I too am all for fair, open and honest debate, I'm just wondering when is it going to start?
