I HAVE ignored the government Remain campaign as I do not trust our central government, with their very clear agenda to water down our civil rights, freedom of information and employment laws, and their clear wish to privatise the NHS and destroy our countryside with fracking.

I am also now ignoring the Leave campaign, with their ridiculous and meaningless posters and their constant misinformation, and I feel we are being bombarded with their, let's face it, downright lies. Well over two million UK citizens currently live and work in the EU, taking advantage of the myriad opportunities provided there, I understand far more than the number of EU citizens living and working here, so that will be emigration not immigration, and I would be loathe to take away these opportunities for the up and coming generations, particularly at the current time when decent jobs and affordable homes are at such a premium here in the UK.

I understand that our immigration services routinely refuse admission to EU citizens because, of course, we did not sign up to the Schengen agreement and we do not have open borders. Thirteen per cent of our legislation does come from the EU, legislation which is fully discussed and voted upon by the European parliament and we have MEPs representing us.I remember voting in that election, and at least some of that legislation will have been proposed by our members. It is a democratic process. For the first time Europe is at peace, we bicker but when did unity and peace become a bad thing? I'm in my 60's, my home paid for and no job needed, so this vote isn't about me, it's about the coming generations.Whilst I may have the legal right to take away the opportunities the EU provides, and help destroy all that has been achieved to unify Europe post WWII, I don't believe I have any moral right to do so. My vote is clear, and the negative campaigning on both sides infuriates me.
