IT is very worrying to hear that the Royal Bolton A&E department is at “breaking point” but it is not surprising when there is nowhere else to go for treatment.
I cut my finger, which needed stitching, so I rang the GP to be told that they do not offer this service but I was given a nurses' services number to ring. They did not stitch wounds either and I was eventually told to go to A&E. What a complete waste of precious resources!
We have a state of the art complex at Breightmet and Waters Meeting but nobody there can stitch a finger. It is no wonder the hospital is at “breaking point."
