I SEE Iron Man is due again on July 17.
For some this is good as it enhances the profile of Bolton. For others it may be a nuisance as it hinders their attempt to get from one side of the town to the other. I also hear that some towns are experimenting with turning off traffic lights in certain situations as it appears to enhance traffic flow.
Now I did mention this last year after the event, but will it have been clocked by someone?
There is no need to leave the lights on at the junction of Chorley Old Road, Chorley New Road and Chorley Street. Please turn them off or put black bags over them.
There was nothing more frustrating last year than being held up at the bottom of St Georges Road in a long queue watching the lights turning on and off for no apparent reason whatsoever. Let the traffic flow freely between St Georges Road and Chorley Old Road and I am sure there will be a lot less exasperated motorists.
