WAKING just before 6am on Saturday, my drift back to sleep was shattered by a crack of memory of Friday's events. So it wasn't a dream. It's real. My country has done one of the stupidest things in its history.

It was like awaking to the memory of a recent bereavement. I cannot remove the feeling of depression. I am ashamed. I wish I could express my shame to Europeans.

The positives? Zilch! The negative, huge, awful potential for Britain. It is the longest suicide note in history.

Turning to the papers, my Guardian's reactions as expected. As for the Bolton News, I was disturbed to see a triumphant-looking headline "Bolton helps secure Brexit." "A fantastic opportunity." An independent Britain? Get real, we are in a quagmire of our own making and we will suffer the consequences. As a British European, I have been painfully snatched from my family. I have avoided radio and TV news, I might vomit if I heard Farage and Boris.
