I READ that Bolton Ukip chairman Cllr Paul Richardson had found time to extol the Ukip credentials of Bolton with a European journalist.

He must be revelling in the Brexit choice of the British people. If he thinks, however, that Bolton is a town which his party will continue to gather and grow, he is likely to be disappointed.

Ukip failed to gain a second councillor in Hulton at the last elections, they came third. Already two Brexit promises to the people of Bolton have been denied and broken. There will be no extra money for the NHS and European migration is unlikely to decrease.

All Ukip and their fellow travellers have achieved is to incite discord, division and panic in the country and our town.

The only interview Cllr Richardson ought to be giving is that in which he explains why his party still exists, given that it has accomplished its sole raison d'etre, and why his party has so shamelessly led folk by the nose to economic uncertainty and a rapidly contracting economy.

For those who wanted a stable, prosperous, united country, recall the words of the greatest of Britons, Sir Winston Churchill, who welcomed and encouraged fighting men and women from all over Europe who came to bravely assist in our war against far right nationalism. "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts."

It might be flattering to be asked to jolly it up in the Danish media, however, the people of Bolton want matters dealing with a little closer to home. I am confident that Ukip has reached its high water mark in Bolton.Their willingness to mislead people in the Referendum campaign will catch up with them
