ALAN Johnson says that Bolton's Labour council should reverse the decision to close Children's Centres. "Save the centres" Letters, July 11.
He is dreaming if he think anything Labour will reverse what he sees as Tory-led cuts.
Labour was in power 15 years after Margaret Thatcher and didn't reverse a single thing she implemented other than the Poll Tax.
The reality is the Tories do the dirty work, take the blame for correcting the economy through hard measures and then when Labour gets into power they ruin any balancing of the economy. If you look over history this is repeated time and time again.
I wish we could have more childcare, care in the community etc but with a finite budget both nationally and locally, its a case of robbing Peter to pay Paul.
Dream on Alan.
