IT is over three years since I and many others attended a residents' meeting in regards to the new proposed regeneration of the Hulton Lane playing fields.
I along with many others use these fields everyday and am still amazed that they are nowhere near finished.
The children's play area is without doubt an added bonus to the area, as is the caged football park.
The proposed full size pitches are a long way from being completed and looking at the state of the grass will need to be re-seeded.
There is one waste bin on the whole of the outer field to cater for the many dog walkers and public, the outer fields including the old railway lines are now inaccessible due to the dumping of building waste from the drainage.
Bolton council is outsourcing work for no doubt the cheaper option I feel.
I've watched the transformation of Haigh Hall Park in Wigan over the last 12 months in a project that dwarfs Hulton Lane project.
Bolton council cost cutting and penny pinching at its best.
