I WAS fortunate enough to have a conducted tour around the recycling facility at Raikes Lane.
We were told during the tour that all Bolton's grey/black bin waste was burned in the incinerator.
We were also told that the ash from the incinerator could be used for industrial purposes.
With reference to the 140 litre grey/black bins, council chiefs say they brought them in to lessen crippling landfill costs.
If all the refuse is burned, what are the landfill costs? What actually goes to landfill in Bolton?
