THE headlines have been relentless; jobless numbers fall, despite Brexit; Stock Market rises, despite Brexit; retail sales defy Brexit, economic growth up, despite Brexit; no punishment budget, despite Brexit; Government running surplus despite Brexit.

The woeful economic predictions of the Remain campaign seem not to have come to pass. Britain’s economic prosperity was never tied to the EU. It depends on whether or not we as a country are capable of producing goods and particularly services that people want to consume at a price they are prepared to pay.

The Leave campaign had every faith that the British people could do this without the Brussels bureaucracy, the Remain campaign tried to convince us we couldn’t. Underestimating what the British people are capable of and trying to undermine our confidence as a country with economic threats and intimidation was the fatal flaw in their campaign it explains why they lost by more than 1.5 million votes and why the decision to leave won't be reversed.
