READERS may have seen that NHS campaigners have organised a rally on September 3rd in Bolton town centre to oppose cuts to our National Health Service.

The event has been organised through 38 Degrees which has helped coordinate numerous petitions, email campaigns and protests on a range of issues.

The rally will highlight the fact that government cuts to our NHS will leave a gap of £162 million for health and care in Bolton by 2020.

This is something that does not bode well for Greater Manchester devolution and could adversely affect us all. It is time for the people of Bolton to make a stand.

All credit to Christine Howarth and others who have helped to organise the rally and protest. A series of events will be held on Saturday 3rd September near the Fred Dibnah statue, Oxford Street from 12:00 noon onwards. I would like to encourage readers to come along and show their support.

Together we can fight to defend our NHS.
