I AM a pensioner living alone.

Recently I had a fall in the back street, hitting my head, causing a bleed and taking a lot of skin off my elbow.

I couldn’t get up and lay for half-an-hour until a dog walker spotted me.

An ambulance was called and I was taken to A&E where I was treated.

Because of the knock to my head, they wouldn’t allow me home with no one around, so I had to stay with my son.
I was in despair but my wonderful neighbours came to my rescue.

We are only a small area but we look out for each other and they did that royally.

I was accompanied wherever I went or driven there so this letter is to say a big thank you to everyone, also to my rescuer, whom I did not know, but is called Gaynor.

My son was away at the time, but on his return, he was my knight.

A lot of people say no one cares any more, but my experience proves them wrong, mainly due to my neighbours, who still look out for me.
