WHEN the UK voted to leave the European Union what did they mean? Was it a ‘hard’ or ‘soft’ Brexit, in or out of the single market?
Who knows, perhaps we need another vote. In playing this silly game Remain campaigners are demonstrating their inability to accept the sovereign will of the British people. It should be very clear, 17.4 million Leave voters wanted to leave the EU, its not complicated.
Can you imagine if the Remain campaign had won? Would Ed Miliband (MP for Doncaster North where 69% voted Leave) be chin stroking, pondering what the British people mean by that? Of course not, politicians rejected at the ballot box are trying to obstruct the democratic will of the British people. In doing so they are playing with fire, if they persist, they will pay a heavy political price.
For if there is one truism in politics, it is that once the British people make up their minds on a big issue it is a foolish politician indeed that stands in their way.
