I WAS pleased that the Bolton News featured the story telling us of the closure of Roy Wilkinson's garage in Halliwell, and some of its history.
While working in the area I was a regular customers, upon retirement I travel occasionally from Horwich to experience some of the 'old standards' f personal service given by Roy.
May I, through the letters page, send him my best wishes and thanks for his most courteous and helpful service, being so willing to check tyres, oil and water, with a smile, even though he might be very busy!
Where would one find that now — how do older ladies with arthritic back, knees and fingers get help with these car checks?
May I wish Roy and his wife Christine a happy and well earned retirement and good luck to cashier Diane Eden. You all be missed.
