AFTER so much bad news about the decline of Bolton's town centre, it is good to finally see some good news at last with the opening of a new cinema. Hopefully it will help attract visitors to Bolton who will also use other shops and amenities.
We have seen so many shops and business close in recent years that inevitably, many readers will have felt disheartened about the future of our town centre.
The loss of local established businesses ranging from, Prestons, Whittakers, ESB motor cycles as well as the loss of important local buildings have all had a negative impact on our town.
It is good to see some positive news for a change. Bolton still has some good local shops and restaurants. We have a good market and some good pubs too. The new cinema development shows what can be achieved with the right investment and support. Let's hope that there will be more good news in the not too distant future.
