WHILE one welcomes attempts to protect local jobs by the Labour Council, the award to Asons with council public money, brings into question the nature of the way it was done.

Cllr Cliff Morris needs to provide answers to the Bolton public.

Bolton Green Party agrees with the views expressed by Bernadette Gallagher Unison Secretary, and Martin McMulkin secretary of Bolton TUC Bolton News, Saturday November 19.

Why can public service jobs not be protected by our Labour run council.

With more cuts to come to vital services, with job losses, and children's centres under threat, decisions such as these, made behind closed doors, have got to be condemned.

Calls have been made by all sides for the council to use its massive reserves to protect council jobs and services. Bolton Green Party have consistently called for this.

Cllr Morris needs to step down, Bolton Green Party joins all others in calling for answers, and action from the Labour Council.
