If Bolton's ruling Labour council thought their antics on Wednesday popped the blister then they better think again.
Attacking opposition councillors who were asking questions that many Boltonians wanted to ask shows a complete lack of respect to the electorate.
Cliff Morris mentioned that the land on Clarence Street had been sold for twice the amount that Asons paid for it.
As Cllr Morris has now gone on record by saying that Asons paid for the land can we have transparency as to whether Asons paid Bolton Council the market value for the land or whether they purchased the land at a reduced rate "to secure jobs"?
If they purchased the land at a reduced rate then is this why Asons were able to sell it for twice the amount they paid and did all the proceeds from the sale of the land go to Asons or did some go to the Council?
Or was the land transferred back from Ason's ownership to the Council ?
Can someone from Bolton Council please clarify the events surrounding the transfer of ownership for this land? It's a very straightforward question which taxpayers should be entitled to know.
