COULD someone please explain what is happening with the UK — the Red Cross being drafted in to assist the NHS with a humanitarian crisis whilst we continue to give billions in overseas aid.

Does no one in government, particularly Theresa May, have the common sense and courage to admit the present policies are grotesquely absurd?

If the Red Cross is needed to help our own NHS then maybe we should be asking Ethiopia, Pakistan, India and the Sudan for aid ourselves.

The UK's policy is fundamentally broken and requires emergency intensive care but who will deliver it?
