I RECENTLY lost my little dog which I had for ten years, which devastated me.

He was my pal, my companion and someone who was always there and I felt lost without him.

I decided to go to the Destitute Animal Shelter in Bolton to have a look for another pal.

When I arrived, I enquired how I could obtain another dog and was told it was £100 to £150 to have one.

At one time you could donate £50 which I was willing to pay but as I am out of work, I just could not afford this astronomical price and there was a little terrier which was ten months old which would have suited me ideally.

How can people afford these sums they are asking to re home a dog. It's no wonder the animal shelter is full at those prices. Go back to a donation.
