WITH reference to the recent letter from the manager of the Destitute Animal Shelter about the costs of purchasing a dog.
I and my brother purchased a border collie, Lucy, last June, after seeing her several times. She is a beautiful, loving dog who only wants a happy home. She enjoys plenty of walks and loves playing with other dogs.
The Shelter doesn't always know the background of the dogs and some have been treated badly. The Shelter is right in what it said. No matter how much an animal costs and if you are a true animal lover nothing else matters. Whatever the cost, this shouldn't matter, Lucy, with all she has been through, is a loving affectionate dog. No matter what is has cost, the price doesn't matter as we would be lost without her. The staff are wonderful at looking after them, so please don't be put off and go and look around and give a dog a home.
