I have read a lot recently about rubbish being dumped at bus stops and other similar places.

When I have a burst of energy and fifteen minutes to spare, I often go around my local area and fill a bag with discarded rubbish. The question is, what do I do with it then if my slim bin is full of my own stuff?

I can’t leave it in the back street at the side of my bin because the bin men ignore loose plastic bags and I could get prosecuted myself for fly tipping. Logically, one would think, that you find a local council bin either at a bus stop or find any other conveniently placed council litter bin and leave it there so that it can be picked up when the council next collect.

Now you can’t call this fly tipping can you? It is doing a service to the community, but if the litter bins are not collected frequently then obviously it will build up a look unsightly.

I have seen full bright orange coloured litter bags obviously left by official council street cleaners on street corners. So, where do we get these bags from for our own use? I have not seen any in the supermarket. Perhaps someone from the council would be prepared to elucidate on the correct procedure please for those of us who have the time and incentive to do a bit on our own.
