MUCH has been written about the latest modern word Brexit, a word banded about daily by every politician, newspaper and TV and radio station in the land and abroad.

Every politician knows what’s best for us all and depending on which side they sit whether we want a hard Brexit or a soft one.

Almost all have forgotten a little Greek word enshrined into English culture on June12, 1215. The word is democracy and its enshrining is in the Great Charter (The Magna Carta).

The great Charter ensured the concept of government accountability and protection of the individual’s rights. Oliver Cromwell knew this and this is why Britain had its own Civil War. The last time we nearly lost the little Greek word out of our dictionaries was in 1939/45 the war against Fascism.

Has Britain come to its sense just in time again? On June 9, 2017 we will know the answer.
