JEREMY Corbyn, Prime Minister? It's a scary thought. This is a man who comes across as a gentle soul who has firm principles and beliefs which he's adhered to throughout his political life.

But Corbyn is a frontman. In the background there are figures pulling the strings and manipulating much of where they would like the Labour Party to be. This is a hard left group determined to return this country to the socialist nightmare we all endured in the 1970's.

Remember the power of the unions holding the country to ransom, the obnoxious picket lines which thrived on intimidating those who wanted to go to work, union leaders strutting up and down Downing Street and the 'Winter of Discontent' when rubbish wasn't collected, lights went out and even the dead couldn't be buried, well all of that will return if Corbyn wins the election.

He has promised to repeal all the trade union laws brought in during he past 30 years or so. The unions will thrive in any re-nationalisation of industries, a golden opportunity for them to wield even more power. Corbyn often cites the socialism of Venezuela as a template for society — I wonder if he's seen the news recently of a country which is bankrupt with its people out of work and rioting on the streets?

The socialist dogma of spending other people's money until it all runs out is also on the cards. Labour has promised to 'spend, spend, spend' adding yet more debt. This will all result in massive borrowing and interest rates going up with the subsequent ripple effect on mortgage costs.
