THE Bolton News of Friday, June 30, informed readers that retrospective planning permission for the five huge ostentatious houses, each one costing over a million pounds and built not only in the wrong place but different sizes and designs than agreed with the council, had been refused.

I would have thought that the planning inspector would have noticed these discrepancies when inspecting the site or are developers left to do as they wish?

Bolton council should not allow these developers to get away with this blatant disregard to planning laws. Without a doubt the developers should be made to take them down.

Any compromise will probably result in Bolton being invaded by developers from across the country as word gets around that Bolton planning department is a soft touch.

Bolton does not need this type of housing, especially built in beautiful countryside which has been enjoyed by generations of Boltonians. Blot on the landscape is a perfect description.
