A Thousand Thanks - Literally

May I please thank the superb and enthusiastic audience of a thousand people who attended our Eagley Band and Smithills Community Christmas Concert in the Victoria Hall on Saturday night. What a very special night.

Once again I have been overwhelmed by the reaction to the musical standard of the concert and the incredible number of kind e-mails, texts and messages of congratulation with regard to every aspect of the evening, from the programme and presentation to the professionalism of every musician and singer who took to the stage with me.

I must also thank the hugely supportive Mayor and Mayoress of Bolton and Bolton News not only for their help but for attending the concert and on an evening when thirteen million people stayed at home to watch the final of a television dance competition which so many of us love, to attract an audience of a thousand people means a great deal.

I cannot thank the kind and generous people of Bolton enough for Saturday night and those who travelled from as far away as London just to attend the concert. I really hope such amazing support can happen once again at the end of January when the very same performers and I take to the Albert Hall stage in aid of The Mayor of Bolton’s Charity on Saturday January 27 at 7.30pm in the Town Hall.

I really hope we will have another packed house and stunning evening.

May I take this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy, healthy and safe 2018,

Chris Wormald
