Matches have been called off at the Harper Green pitches despite coaches claiming perfect conditions
RE Football club confused over pitch closures, The Bolton News, February 13, I have always been under the impression that the council must call these pitches unfit on Wednesdays, to print in The Bolton News that all council pitches are off this weekend on Thursdays.
It does seem a bit early, but that's the way it has always been. You pay your ground fees and take your chance.
But then Bolton Council know they will have all their all-weather pitches fully booked up at that weekend with clubs training or arranging friendlies. They are not as thick as we think they are.
