ONCE again you report an accident involving a car turning right from Moss Bank Way into Blackburn Road.

It is now more than four years since ward councillors met officers from Transport for Greater Manchester at the junction to ask for action to reduce this serious risk.

Then and on many occasions since TfGM has promised councillors it was addressing the issue.

Initially it said that TfGM resources were all committed to the Leigh Guided Busway and the Blackburn Road junction would follow.

The Busway is now operating and still we see no action.

I for one cannot understand why a simple right-turn signal cannot be included just as exists for traffic turning right from Crompton Way into Blackburn Road.

The two could run together, or is that too simple an idea?

It almost seems that in the eyes of TfGM, Bolton and road safety do not matter.
